From the beginning, Guns of Boom esports seasons have always been managed by Game Insight and organized by external partners. Although we have worked with several organizations to run tournaments, including EGL (prior to Season 1) and ESL, Guns of Boom was originally envisioned as a game for open competitions to give anyone the opportunity to organize and run tournaments.
With that in mind, we are glad to let you know the Guns of Boom team will be handling the rest of Season 2 and the upcoming Season 3, in addition to a few other changes. Our goal is to let anyone, whether members of the esports community or a group of Guns of Boom enthusiasts, run tournaments through our soon-to-be-unveiled public API, and to provide our players with a more natural way to gather, train and engage in PRO Play tournaments through upcoming Clans 2.0, and improved Clan vs. Clan features.
What does this change mean for the teams of Season 2? It will be the same prize pool, the same competitive spirit, and the same breathtaking live broadcast of the Season Finale. There will just be some minor changes to the way tournament enrollment works on our website gobesports.gg.
Another important announcement is that the venue of the remaining Season 2 events has been moved from Germany to the home turf of Guns of Boom, the Baltics. Pro Series Europe, along with the Season 2 Finals, will be held in Tallinn, Estonia this November. All our teams will have more time to prepare their visas and, of course, they will have all the necessary assistance.
We are thrilled to be welcoming all six qualifying teams to Tallinn, Estonia on November 22nd to compete in Pro Series Europe. The winner of this event will advance to the Season 2 Finals where they will battle for the championship title with the likes of Back to Back (Kick-off winners), Impact Gaming (Gods of Boom Cologne winners) and Lazarus (Gods of Boom Cologne 2nd place). The finals will take place the following day on the main stage of Hypertown Tallinn, November 23rd.
Pro Series Europe prize pool is $40,000
- 1st place - $20,000
- 2nd place - $10,000
- 3rd & 4th place - $4,000
- 5th & 6th place - $1,000
Season 2 Finals prize pool is $170,000
- 1st place - $100,000
- 2nd place - $50,000
- 3rd place - $15,000
- 4th place - $5,000
We expect this will make esports more accessible to our players and let us bring new technical solutions into Guns of Boom ecosystem. Also, we will definitely invite our athletes to take part in closed and open feature testing as soon as they are ready.
To reiterate and emphasize our commitments to our esports players, fans and community at large, the total Season 2 prize pool remains $500,000 and Game Insight is dedicated to providing Guns of Boom players with high-quality tournaments and their support for the entire season.
See you in Tallinn!
